Being Offered Loads Of Credit?
No doubt a day doesn't go past without you receiving some form of direct mail from a credit card or loan company. It's a fiercely competitive industry, the financial services market and, as such, lenders and credit companies will do anything to capture more of the market and tempt customers away from their competitors.
However, if you took up every single offer of credit, or switched credit cards as often as you received new offers, you'd not only pile up a lot of debt, but also find yourself with a poor credit profile. Each time you apply for credit, that application is filed on your credit file for other lenders to see. And, should you build up a profile of regular applications, you'll be deemed as a high risk for lenders and will soon run out of steam (and credit).
If you want to put an end to multiple offers of credit arriving on your doorstep, you can either contact them directly and request you be removed from their mailing list, or you can contact the Direct Marketing Association to take yourself off any unsolicited mail lists.
