Debt Ads Are Everywhere… Don’t Be Sucked In
We’ve all seen the headlines about the number of repossessions and bankruptcies rising and how consumer debt is spiralling, and we’ve all seen the subsequent flashy TV ads – with metaphors about ‘drowning’ in debt and ‘being stranded on a desert island’.
Companies advertising on TV have made lots of money to afford such ads. And one way to retrieve their investment is through excessive fees. You’ll no doubt have noticed the rise in loan and debt companies now using TV ads to lure customers, more often than not, into an ever-increasing spiral of debt?
Sadly, you’ll notice these adverts are aired during the day to target the most vulnerable people, from mums and students to unemployed and those finding it hard to get credit. Moreover, they are relentless in their pursuits.
So please be careful. You don’t want to make your own situation worse or get “help” from the wrong company. A huge number of people are falling into the trap of getting into trouble with a consolidation loan. Don’t let this happen to you! Instead:
- Seek professional and independent advice
- Browse the information on this site, or the contact the Citizens Advice Bureau for information and advice you can trust.
